John Gomes is a Senior Vice President at CORE, to which he brings years of experience and more than $100M in residential sales in the luxury segment of the real estate market. He works closely with high-profile buyers, sellers and investors, brokering property in some of New York City’s most coveted buildings.

A skilled communicator and listener, John attributes his success in the industry to the amount of time and personal attention he devotes to his clients. He has an exceptional ability to assist people in articulating their needs and then works tirelessly to secure them the best, most appropriate property to suit those needs, whether it’s a new development or a conversion apartment. Not surprisingly, the majority of his business is referral based.

John focuses primarily on Lower Manhattan. As both a resident and property owner in the Financial District, he has extensive knowledge of the area and its surrounding neighborhoods. Whether it’s real estate, dining, shopping, entertainment or culture, John knows what’s happening downtown.

John’s expertise is in the marketing of new development properties. He assists developers in purchasing sites and advises them on everything from floor plans to finishes, including referring them to a talented network of architects, renderers and interior designers. He also establishes a brand identity for each building, sets up and manages the sales office, and positions and markets the property until it is completely sold.

A native of Boston, John graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a BA in both political science and communication studies. He also holds an MBA from Baruch College in Manhattan, where his concentration was entrepreneurship. Prior to obtaining his broker’s license, John worked as the maître d’ at Balthazar, in Soho, and was president of the well-known fashion house of Norman Norell.

John enjoys cooking, reading—especially at the New York Public Library—and traveling. He has great passion for and knowledge of art, architecture and design, which he feels informs and inspires his work on a daily basis.
